The Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics Nijmegen has been approved as the Registration Authority for the TC37 Data Category Registry (DCR), which will replace the current Syntax web service. The new DCR webpage is nearing release as ISOcat.org in a version that experts can test and provide feedback on. Information about Thematic Domain Groups (TDGs) and their associated Activities will be posted on the ISOcat website. To see a sample TDG information entry, check out the Terminology entry. The list entitled "ISO TC 37 TDG DCR Membership" includes individuals who have in the past been appointed to various TDGs and related Activities, as well as members who have been appointed to the DCR Board by TC 37 Participating Member Bodies (P Members). If you have been invited to fill in this form, your name should be on the "TDG DCR Membership" list.
The organizational meeting (please note that in this document the meeting day is wrongly stated as Thursday; January 7 is a Wednesday) for the DCR Board takes place in Tilburg, The Netherlands 2008-01-07/08. According to resolutions from the Moscow meetings of TC 37, all existing TDGs will be reconstituted at this meeting, followed by an official call for TC 37 Sub-Committees to reappoint members to their respective TDGs and Activities. In order to ensure a seamless transition to the new administration of the DCR, current TDG members are requested to submit the following form if you want to be reappointed. Among other information, the form allows you to register to attend the Tilburg meeting by indicating which days you will be present.
When prompted for the name of a TDG or TDG/Activity in which you wish to remain active, you should copy the name directly from the DCR Membership list. In addition to registering your name and your intention to continue in your capacity as a member of a TDG or TDG/Activity, Chairs are requested to write up to 150 words describing the work of their TDGs or TDG/Activities. Please write this description for a target audience that may not be familiar with the workings of your SC or Working Group, and avoid overly technical jargon. This information will be used by guests and newcomer experts in particular to orient themselves to the work of your TDG or Activity. Indicate the SC and WG associated with your TDG, as some information is missing in the curent file.
You may use the "Comments" field to provide additional information, such as:
